Curon QCOX ; 4.3-inch PMP with a wheek key

Curon QCOX ; 4.3-inch PMP with a wheek key

Curon plans to release its new 4.3-inch PMP 'QCOX' in September, which is equipped with a wheel key to change a mode from one to another such as movie, music, DMB, FM tuner, navigation and document viewer.

While browsing iAudiophile I came across this thread where some iAudiophiles had found an interesting PMP. It's called the Curon QCOX and it's one of the first PMPs in a long time to actually get my attention.

There are quite a few reasons as to why I think this PMP is a little different in comparison to all the other devices out there. It has a great design, and the build quality looks solid judging by the pictures. Another thing I like is the fact that Curon is daring to use a new controller system and not just sticking to the same 'ol stuff.

The unit is equipped with a 4.3-inch colour Liquid Crystal Display, that probably has a resolution of 480x272 (guesstimate). It comes with all the standard features such as movie viewing, music playback, DMB, an FM tuner, GPS navigation (with an optional cradle) and a document viewer. But what rocks most about this thing is that it supposedly supports HD quality TV out. This is probably accompished by the AMD Alchemy processor that happily MHzes away in the player. This processor seems to be getting more popular. The upcoming Viliv P2 also uses the same chip.

Now, all we have to hope for, is that Curon decide to release this baby internationally. Currently the device is sheduled for resale at the beginning of September in South Korea. Retail prices are supposed to be 500 000 to 600 000 Korean Won for the 30 Gigabyte version.
